Engine power and performance

Under the hood, you will find the reliable Tigershark engine from the last generation. This 2.4 L 4- cylinder offers generous power, with 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft. maximum torque.

With the front-wheel drive Sport version, it is couple with a 6- speed automatic transmission. On every other version, a 9- speed transmission has been revamped, making the driving experience more fluid and reactive.

Jeep Compass and fuel consumption

The Jeep Compass is a sturdy SUV that stands out thanks to an impressively low fuel consumption.

The entry-level version with front-wheel drive only consumes 9.3 L/100 km, city and highway combined. All-wheel drive sometimes increases fuel consumption numbers significantly, but this is not the case for the Jeep Compass, with numbers as low as 7.8 L to 10.8 L/100 km for highway and city.

So, we can say that it is a very economical vehicle, even if you opt for all-wheel drive!

2022 Compass interior and technologies

The Jeep Compass’ latest model interior has been entirely redesigned and includes several new cutting-edge technologies.

The Uconnect 4 infotainment system with its 7- inch screen has been replaced by the latest Uconnect 5, offering more speed and greater resolution. An 8.4- inch screen will be found in base models, while superior models boast a large 10.1- inch screen.

Instrumentation is also digital: a 10.25- inch screen allows you to customize displayed information, like navigation data, speed and more.

When it comes to design, it has also been revamped, with practical changes like how the screens are displayed and a central elevated console, and aesthetic changes like new materials and textures.

Visually speaking, the 2022 Compass interior definitely gives the impression of a high-end vehicle, on top of being more practical than ever.

What we can say about style

The interior look has been redone; but that is true for the exterior as well! Modernised and more sophisticated, the main changes will be most obvious in the front: amongst other things, LED headlights are slimmer and the radiator grille has new black trims.

New rim choices have also been added as well as a new color palette. Yet, from the very first glance, with its seven vertical bars and robust build, we can tell straight away that it is unmistakably a Jeep!

The Trailhawk version remains sturdier than the others and the Jeep Compass Limited stands out with its Elite package, which includes black trims and imposing 19- inch wheels.

Jeep Compass, towing capacities and dimensions

While the only version with front-wheel drive cannot tow any load, all all-wheel drive versions of the Jeep Compass can tow up to 2 000 pounds.

Moreover, the Jeep Compass has 770 L of cargo space, allowing you to easily stow all your luggage and head out for an adventure! You need even more space? No problem: the Jeep SUV has foldable rear seats which, when folded, brings cargo space up to 1 693 L!
